Ayush is currently working as the Lead of Growth at GrabOnRent. He has been working closely with the founding team and is taking care of the growth part of the business.
He along with his colleagues were able to bring down the overall CAC substantially and at the same time ensuring that the orders were not getting affected.
He also takes care of all the growth marketing strategies and new initiatives for GrabOnRent. Earlier he was taking care of the growth part of another startup called Awesummly.
Being in the growth space for 3+ years now, he has seen a lot of changes around growth hacking. He is running India’s Biggest community of Growth Enthusiasts which is by the name Growth Folks. Growth Folks has been in the ecosystem for 22 months now. With an offline presence in 8+ Indian Cities and over 600+ growth enthusiasts as a part of the community, Growth Folks is for sure a fast-growing community in Growth Space. A few months back, they organized India’s Biggest Growth-Product Hackathon in partnership with Microsoft.

- Learning: Constant learning and upgrading your talent upgrading your skills is something that will keep you on toes, but at the same time, it will help you understand what actually the market is going through. So keeping up with the trends, and what all things are going in the market is something that someone needs to keep in mind.
- Being A Part Of Community: I am part of various community, I run a community of myself with the name road folks. And the community is something that people don’t understand the value of it, I believe, in being a part of our community, get to learn as well as each other, you get to learn a lot of people from others and everything.
- Take Risk: Being a growth hacker, the amount of risk that we take as a part of our marketing strategy is something that’s immense. So I would suggest, take the risk even if you fail, it’s going to be a learning curve. Go back see what were the reasons because of which you fail and you go back and go and iterate the same thing probably this time, it might work for you.
Akshay: In this modern era, is a college degree needed to succeed?
Ayush: Okay, so if a college degree is needed to succeed as something that is very difficult, but yeah, I would say yes, what we can do is you should have a degree because you don’t know at what point of time it might come off us.
But let me tell you my story. I’m from an engineering background and I have changed my three jobs in four years right now and I haven’t, I haven’t got a single chance where I was supposed to show my degree.
It’s all about talent. It’s all about networking. It’s all about your skills and what you do and investing in others.
Invest in yourself. Give yourself time to read the blogs and read and this would be my take away.
